Our story is built on nearly a century of experience, innovation, and a deep commitment to helping our customers succeed. It began in 1929, when Walter Krueger founded Krueger Machinery Co. in Saginaw, Michigan — laying the foundation for a family legacy rooted in quality equipment and dependable service. In the early 1970s, that legacy evolved when his son, Tom Krueger, introduced one of the first stand-alone equipment rental operations under the Associated Equipment Dealers (AED). This forward-thinking approach helped pioneer a more flexible way for contractors and businesses to access the tools they needed without the burden of ownership and played a role in shaping the modern rental industry.

By 1982, that vision became Rentalex, with the opening of the first location in Tampa, Florida. That growth continued in 2001 when Tom’s oldest son, Jeff Krueger, established the Kalamazoo, Michigan location, extending reach back into its home state. Originally focused on tools, equipment and basic party rental essentials, Rentalex quickly grew into a trusted partner for contractors, builders, event planners, and homeowners alike.

As our company expanded, so did our expertise. In 2015, our Michigan location shifted to focus exclusively on event rentals — bringing the same commitment to quality, reliability, and service to weddings, corporate events, and special occasions. This shift came from a deeper understanding of our local market and a desire to better serve our community while continuing to build on the strengths that have defined us for generations. Today, we carry forward that legacy with the same values that started it all: reliability, expertise, and a customer-first mindset. Now under fourth-generation leadership, we combined decades of experience with a fresh vision for the future. Whether supporting job sites in Florida or helping create memorable events in Michigan, we remain dedicated to delivering the right rentals, at the right time, with service our customers can count on.
